About Me

ABOUT: My name is Katy Roxanne and I am obsessed with food. I have a habit of making my friends hungry when I talk about it. It's not MY fault they didn't eat a good breakfast. The goal is always to engage and inspire people to seek out different culinary experiences and that is exactly why I started Katy Eats; to tell my stories.

INSPIRATION: A few years ago, my wonderful friends decided that it would be a great idea to take pictures of me while I was eating in public, and compile them into a Facebook album. I am not a graceful eater, so it's safe to say that these were not very attractive photos of me. Instead of being embarrassed, it turned into a thing. People found it hilarious and could relate! I was somehow making people feel more comfortable around food.

WHO: People always worry about silly things like, "What do I order on the first date?", "How do I gracefully eat an oyster?", and "Oh crap, I have garlic breath." If you have mentally stated any one of those sentences or anything similar, you, my friend, are in the right place. Along with advice, I will provide my favorite places to eat and recipes for meals that can only be described as gourmet comfort food.

10 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME:
1. I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ
2. My friends think I'm a crazy cat lady. I am. But I miss having dogs.
3. My answer to "what is your favorite type of food?" changes every time I'm asked, so don't ask.
4. I am currently a film student and am pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.
5. My favorite color is dark purple. Or black.
6. I have been a hip-hop dancer since I was 12 years old.
7. I travel a lot but I hate flying.
8. I am non religious. Not because I don't have a belief system, but because I feel that in order to develop my beliefs, I need (and want) to experience as many different religions as possible.
9. French is my favorite language.
10. I had myself convinced that I was allergic to shellfish based off of one bad meal and didn't eat anything that had shellfish in it for years. Plot twist. I was never allergic. In fact, I am not allergic to anything. Score.
